About Desert Blossom

At Desert Blossom we focus on providing learning opportunities for your child to make discoveries independently, interact with peers, and work in a small guided groups focused on specific skills. Our learning centers are a valuable way to keep kids engaged in positive and constructive activities while promoting social skills, creativity, independence, interests and more.

Desert Blossom Preschool is a warm and inviting educational environment. Learning takes place through active play, hands-on activities, and exploration. Children are encouraged to express their feelings and ideas, in a secure, anti-bias and multicultural setting. Thoughtful and carefully implemented activities are linked directly to early childhood common core standards. These domains are addressed through a rich mixture of active play, whole group instruction (circle time), and numerous engaging and hands-on activities. Our literacy rich curriculum utilizes the Handwriting Without Tears program, encouraging letter recognition, formation and enhancing fine motor skills.  We pride ourselves on being positive role models and reinforcing responsible choices through Love and Logic management techniques. Students' different academic and developmental needs are assessed and accommodated. Our 6: 1 (maximum) student to teacher ratio provides for differentiation and individualization of instruction and learning activities for students. All staff are highly qualified, licensed teachers with over ten years of experience working in the early childhood field.

Lunch & Snack

Lunch
Students bring their own lunch and afternoon snacks to school.

Snacks

At Desert Blossom we have a snack calendar and each family is asked to bring snack for the class about once a month. We ask that families take into account student preferences, food allergies and trying new things. We also encourage a focus on providing students with nutritious, healthy foods, with low levels of processed ingredients and sugar. Of course we are willing to have the occasional sweet treat for student birthdays or special occasions!
